Vineyards

Le Lune del VesuviS (Naples, Italy)

Le Lune del VesuviS (Naples, Italy)

The Tenuta "Le lune del Vesuvio" is a winery located in the Vesuvius National Park, in the municipality of Terzigno, a few kilometres from the famous excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, Sorrento and Amalfi Coasts.  The roots of the vines that climb the slopes of Vesuvius sink into the dark and porous lava soil. This soil does not need to be watered as it retains moisture and then releases it. The vines arrived in these lands in the 5th century BC brought here by the Greeks and descend directly from the Aminei of Thessaly. Here the grapes grow strong and lush: the vines, most of which are ungrafted. They are grown in the piedmont strip up to 400 meters above sea level and draw mineral character, thickness and power from the volcanic soil.

Les Vins Margnat (Provence, France)

Le Lune del VesuviS (Naples, Italy)

Margnat wines were wines widely distributed in France during the post-war period. The Margnat company was founded in the 1890s by Edouard Margnat a native of Lyon who settled in Marseille. In 1940 his three sons,  Paul (Jp's grandfather), Robert and Jacques  took over the business widely known in the industry as "Margnat Brothers" s.

5 generations on wine growers brings you to the modern day, and JP.

Over the years, the company evolved and changed direction and today they focus on providing well-made and well-priced wine from grapes around Provence, including a number of rosés

Chateau Moulin caresse (Bergerac, France)

Located in Saint-Antoine-de-Breuilh is a commune in the Dordogne department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in southwestern France. Bergerac is a traditional wine growing region.

The Deffarge family at Chateau Moulin Caresse has been cultivating vines for more than 9 generations, always with the same passion and love for the profession.

Today, Benjamin and Quentin have taken the reins and their parents, Sylvie and Jean-François, are still there to support them.

Two types of soil are present on the estate:

– south-facing clay-limestone hillsides which will allow our red grape varieties (Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon) to reach exceptional maturity.

– the plateau, made up of boulbènes and flint limestone rocks, culminates at an altitude of 100 meters. Facing north and therefore cooler, it is the ideal playground for our white grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris & Ugni Blanc.

The diversity of grape varieties and soils allows us to produce a wide range of red, rosé, dry, sweet and liqueur white wines.

Chateau la Grave (Minervois, France)

The family have been wine grower for a long time. Formerly, the harvest was deposited in the cooperative cellar of the village. In the 1970s, Josiane and Jean-Pierre OROSQUETTE decided to settle down in their own particular cellar. Not having enough money to enlarge the surface of their cellar to install tanks, they have the idea to make subterranean tanks ! This idea is brilliant! These tanks keep the wine for a natural freshness!

A few years later, they buy the domain La Grave the vineyard of which is in poor condition. From the 1st harvest, they discover to have many white grapes of which the famous Maccabeu which will be the mythical grape of La Grave !
This grape, exclusively regional, is very appreciated for its aromas and allows the estate to obtain a beautiful reputation for white wines !
While continuing to produce excellent white wines, he developed red and rosé wines by bringing them finess and elegance. The next generation arrives with his nephew Tristan and his son Julien.
The estate has practised Reasoned Culture, and from the vintage of 2019 will be certified « Terra Vitis »
Château La Grave produces its wines under 3 appellations (in white, rosé and red) :
- AOP Minervois,
- IGP Hauts de Badens (this appellation is produced by Château La Grave only !)
